Want to become a volunteer?
We are always looking for suitable candidates to support us on a voluntary basis. Our volunteers assist us in various roles in seal care, the visitor centre and technical services.

SEAL CARER
Because we work with sick, wild animals, you will receive thorough internal training as a seal caretaker. Depending on your shift, your duties may include: cleaning and disinfecting the animal enclosures, preparing feed, washing and folding work clothes, washing dishes and cleaning the fish kitchen, assisting with feeding, and many other tasks that arise.
Our working languages are Dutch and English.

VISITOR CENTRE INFORMATION OFFICER
As an Information Officer in our visitor centre, you will be fully informed about all the ins and outs of caring for the seals and will be able to enthusiastically tell our visitors all about it. Of course, we won’t just throw you in at the deep end. We have an information folder at our disposal and you will be trained by an experienced host/hostess.
Our working languages are Dutch and English.
If you enjoy working with people and animals, then this position might be just right for you.

TECHNICAL SERVICE
As a Technical Service volunteer, you will be responsible for the water and pump installations, the grounds and building management. Standard work on the water installations will be carried out on a daily basis, as well as preparatory maintenance tasks and repairs to urgent defects. Work preparation and instruction will be carried out by our Technical Service Manager. Knowledge of pump installations is not a requirement; go-getters and handy DIYers are very welcome. This is not an office job and you will regularly be called upon to use your physical fitness.
Our working language is Dutch or English.
